    six months of cleveland

Dave, Reuben and I have lived in Cleveland Heights, OH for almost 6 months. We routinely get asked by people who learn that we’re new to the area “what do you think of Cleveland?” So here are the top 6 things I’ve liked about living here so far. 1. Friendly, welcoming people. We did have a nice advantage of having some great friends and colleagues in the area who have not only warmly welcomed us into their homes, but also to their communities.  It’s been great to feel included as part of a gang that we’ve only met yet still invite us to parties, BBQ’s and movie nights. one is the loneliest number

When you’ve moved to a new town, what’s the best way you’ve found to connect with people? Count of parties throw in the past 5 days: 3, including a Mcdonalds b-day party for Reuben tonight. Count of how many times I’ve thought “this feels surreal” as I hear the echos in my mostly empty home: innumerable. Count of the number of…

    (new) home sweet home!

Last night Dave texted me that our offer on the house in Cleveland Heights had been accepted! We are thrilled!  Our trip to Cleveland this weekend was wonderful. My parents watched Reuben so we enjoyed being able to talk and blast music as loud as we wanted on the drive there.  We stayed with our fun and gracious friends Marc & Pam. Marc will actually be Dave’s new boss when we move to Cleveland so it’s been great getting to spend time with them.  We enjoyed a date in Cleveland’s Little Italy where we enjoyed some of the best Chicken Marsala of our lives at Anthony’s. The somewhat surly waitress…
